The Agilent 1260 Infinity II Refractive Index Detector is a high-performance HPLC detector designed to excel in differential refractometry (DRI) applications, delivering outstanding results for both entry-level UHPLC and traditional HPLC experiments. It’s especially well suited for detecting compounds without chromophores, such as carbohydrates, lipids, and polymers, which can’t be detected using standard UV-based methods. The detector uses electronic temperature control (ETC) to maintain unmatched thermal and electronic stability, keeping a steady optical unit temperature of up to 55°C for consistent, reproducible results. Its thermal design allows for fast start-up, with initial setup typically completed in under two hours, and light intensity automatically adjusts to compensate for lamp degradation and flow cell staining over time. A built-in recycle valve allows users to maintain operating conditions without a full warm-up cycle, saving both time and solvent between runs.
